msX-B™
Beads
cfDNA Isolation Kit
for whole blood
The simplest cfDNA workflow around
The msX-B™ cfDNA Isolation kit represents a true revolution in cfDNA workflows.
Designed to work with whole blood samples, this kit eliminates the need for samples to be processed to plasma. This means a significant time saving for your lab as well as eliminating a common source of preanalytical variation.
Fully automatable, the kit can integrate seamlessly into existing magnetic bead platforms making the switch easier than ever.
Deeper cfDNA insights
msX-B™ targets only true cell-free DNA, binding fragments directly without addition of other reagents. Competitor kits must lyse the sample before binding, introducing other types of DNA into the extraction as well as preventing use of whole blood.
The fragment profile of cfDNA extracted by msX-B™ from whole blood samples shows a strong nucleosomal pattern associated with cfDNA. It minimises high molecular weight DNA, ensuring that your samples contain maximum signal-to-noise ratio.
The msX-B™ cfDNA extraction kit extracts fragments down to 50 bp in size which are normally lost with conventional methods, opening up new avenues of exploration in your research.
Sequencing quality metrics show up to 12% improvement with msX-B™ cfDNA extracts vs a leading industry standard kit.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
msX-B™ is designed to be used with human whole blood samples which have been collected into Streck Cell-Free DNA BCT®. It is also compatible with K2EDTA, Sodium Citrate and CPD blood collection tubes.
-
The msX-B™ manual workflow is approximately 90 minutes from end to end. Automated workflows may offer additional time savings, platform dependent.
-
Our cfDNA extracts are ready for use in most downstream laboratory assays, including PCR/ddPCR/qPCR, NGS and other sequencing workflows.
-
Yes - as the msX-B™ beads use magnetic bead technology, they are suitable for automation on particle mover or liquid handler automated platforms. Get in touch with us to learn more about specific automated applications.
-
The msX-B™ cfDNA extraction kit includes most of the reagents you need for extraction. Users must provide small volumes of sterile PBS, 20% Isopropanol and 80% Ethanol. The alcohol solutions must be prepared using molecular biology grade water.
-
The msX-B™ kit is used at room temperature. Some heating steps are required during the extraction process. The majority of the kit reagents are stored at room temperature but some must be stored in the fridge or freezer - refer to vial labels.
